Post-Bath Routines

Oscar is actually pretty well-behaved at bath time. We usually leave the door to the bathroom closed because he finds it entertaining to eat toilet paper (we're not nearly as entertained when it happens), but when the door is open, he'll often jump into the bathtub. I think it's because I turned the tap on once or twice for him to drink from before and now he hopes that I'll do it every time.

He must not know what's coming - he looks too happy.

"Can I get in now?"

"Wait, I think I've changed my mind."

He's calm during the bath, but afterwards, he's a bit of a nut - either he goes crazy and does zoomies all over the place, or he rubs up against the walls. I think it's pretty entertaining!

Looking for a way out, but there's no escape!

The running around begins.

Looking soggy and pitiful!

I wanted to say thanks to Tucker the Crestie for passing along the Versatile Blogger Award to me. Sorry it took a while for me to pass along my thanks - it's been a busy week and I dropped the ball on blogging. I was given the award on another occasion and wrote about it (and passed it on to some great blogs) here. Thanks again!

Thanks yet again to Two Little Cavaliers, Life With Dogs and Confessions of the Plume for hosting another blog hop. Happy Saturday, everybody!

Very cute! And we're familiar with that toilet paper fascination. If we're not careful Rudy grabs the end and then dances through the house. Tp streamers are not the decorating affect I'm looking for...

I wonder if the Zoomies come because dogs don't like the smell of the bath soap. If we bathed them in eau de dead fish, they'd probably be quite content after a bath.

My secret to happy bath time is to fill the soap dish with peanut butter.

wow, a schnauzer that likes water! yuki runs and hides when she hears the bathtub water start to run. she does get all crazy-hyper like oscar though, post-bath. :) happy saturday.

The comment above about putting peanut butter in the soap dish is pure genius - and I loved your video of the zoomies. Thanks for sharing.

Stopping by on the blog hop today. I've posted the very best cat song ever - it features the cat band and the cat lady. It's destined to be a wildly popular song! Be among the first to see it!

I say zoomies after a bath is a MUST! But I too like the idea of peanut butter in the soap dish--I'm telling Mom about it right away. I wonder if she could do that when she hoses me off too?

Oscar, you're adorable! Well, a fluffy Oscar is. A wet Oscar is a bit pitiful. :)

Hopping on...

Hi there, we've stopped by on the Pet Blog Hop!

Oscar, even when soggy and pitiful, is just too adorable!

I really enjoy your blog! I have a schnauzer who does not love baths...but he looks happy when he is done

Well I hate baths, but love the post bath zoomie times! I especially love it if I get to dry off outdoors in the sunshine, so I can immediately get my good stink going right away!

Nubbin wiggles,
Oskar

You are too adorable! The Felix just stands there and let's the Mama bath him, but it takes TWO people to bath me! The Daddy to hold me down and the Mama to soap me up. BOL! Did I mention that I cry at the top of my voice the whooooole time? You just get in the tub? the Mama is so jealous.

Our dogs do post-bath zoomies too, but I've never seen them rub against the wall like that. We have to keep them away from the sofas while they're wet though because they like to rub against and roll around on them. Happy Blog Hop Saturday to you!

Peanut butter in the soap dish? That's one of the most brilliant things I've heard in a long time! Thanks for the tip.

I'm thankful that I've got a schnauzer that doesn't rebel when we try to give him a bath. It helps make up for all of his chewing on things he shouldn't chew on.

He used to only do zoomies after baths - the wall thing is new (and a bit odd).

I used to go all wacky after a bath too! Looks like you rubbed & smeared all the water on you onto every sides of the walls in your house! TEE HEE

Oh I hate baths - or any water on me really. But afterwards I have to zoom around too - up and down the garden and rub myself all over the furniture until I can't smell the shampoos any more. I wish we had peanut butter in the soap dish :-) Love from Magic x

My dog is Oscar too! He is not a fan of baths but doesn't put up too much fuss.
Are you coming to Blogpaws in August? I was the only Canadian at the first one. We need more Canuck bloggers at this wonderful event!

Oh we know all about dogs and the zooms after baths. Pocket's zooms involve a small yellow tennis ball and a person to continually throw it. Foley prefers a warm blanket. But nobody is jumping in the tub.

Love this (and isn't Oscar an adorable unsuspecting ham in that "before" picture)! I always get soaked from the dogs' antics after baths (and during baths). Why must they flail around so much when wet???

Oscar is a hoot!
