How nice to meet you! Sorry it's ...Hello Oscar! How nice to meet you! Sorry it's taken me so long to return your visit - thank you for your lovely comment on my blog. I hope you will come to the main part of my blog as well and leave me a comment to say hello there! (the clicker training videos page you were on is one of my static pages but my blog gets updated regularly - it's at: www.bighoneydog.com/honeys-blog )

Anyway, I really enjoyed learning all these things about you & your human! I'm not good behind fences either - I get quite grumpy, even with people I already know! And I don't like barking doggies behind fences when I'm going on my walks. My human is always having to remind me of my manners when I'm walking past them! :-)

My human thinks it's a very good idea to teach doggies to alwasys lie down when in the car - so many doggies just bounce around, all loose, and it's so dangerous both for the doggies and the drivers! Maybe you can practise your Down in the car when it is stationary for a while first? And gradually build up the time you can do it? Then maybe start the engine but not go anywhere? With training us, baby steps always works best. I think a harness will really help and my human says maybe your humans can adjust the harness so that there isn't much "leeway" which means that you will have to either sit or lie down - it isn't loose enough to allow you to stand or move around much. If the only comfortable positions are for you to sit or lie down, that's what you'll do and that's what you'll get used to doing. People often think dogs 'need' to do silly things like stick their heads out of windows in order to "enjoy" car rides but that's not true - what you don't know, you don't miss! I love my car rides but I've always laid down in cars and I just never think of travelling any other way! :-)

Anyway, good luck and my human says she's really impressed that your human is making the effort to do so much training with you. It's great as so many people just don't bother with little doggies, which is a shame. So you're lucky to have such a dedicated, educated human!

Hope to see you on my blog soon - we're having an exciting time as I'm getting a new kitty sister!

Slobbers,
Honey the Great DaneAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09116997529248428606noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8481239128305201844.post-87483433133691905472011-02-24T13:23:54.480-05:002011-02-24T13:23:54.480-05:00You are too sweet!
